Dr. Monika Maciąg is a passionate pharmacologist with a strong background in animal research, molecular biology, and drug discovery. She earned both her Master of Pharmacy and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Medical University of Lublin, Poland, where her doctoral research focused on adrenergic receptor pharmacology. Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratory for Neurodegenerative Disease and Drug Discovery at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, USA. Her research explores the therapeutic potential of neurolysin and its role in neurodegenerative disorders. In addition to her postdoctoral work, she has enriched her expertise through short-term research internships at leading international institutions. She trained at the Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw, Poland, and at the Brain and Behavior Lab at the University of Portsmouth, UK, deepening her knowledge in neuropharmacology, behavioral neuroscience, and molecular neurobiology. She is an active member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and is committed to advancing innovative therapeutic strategies for neurological diseases.
